Summary of Position: Manage and control logistic arrangements and customer support
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Whether working remotely, or in the office; employees are expected to work productively during daily operations.
- Communicate and support customers at a senior level which includes problem solving, monitoring, and attending meetings when necessary
- Oversee staff and trouble shoot daily operational issues
- Maintain compliance with corporate, state, and federal regulations
- Vendor selection and management
- Support Director with various functions
- Assist Director with developing annual budgets
- Performance of accounting duties such as bill paying, invoicing, and collections
- Monthly reporting
- Review vendor invoices and payment details for accuracy before approving
- Support supervisors and staff in daily activity to expedite response time to customers as needed
- Support company marketing functions
- Provide insight into new logistics technologies, and skill sets
- Represent the company in a professional manner
- Set goals for staff and confirm results
- Urgent report, or reporting as directed on various issues
Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Recruiting, interviewing, and selecting well-qualified staff when necessary
- Terminate employees when necessary
- Addressing performance concerns in a timely manner
- Delegate and execute administrative duties
- Administrative tasks such as approving time sheets, paid time off and monitoring overtime
- Conducting performance appraisals for direct reports
- Abide by Human Resources policies, procedures, practices and lead by example
- Provide training whenever necessary to staff
- Create presentations, hold, and run meetings for staff
- Maintain positive employee engagement and actively manage staff
Qualifications:

- Experience dealing with various issues that may arise in the logistics process
- Knowledge of Customs Border Protection (CBP), Federal Maritime Commission (FMC), Non-vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC), Partnered Government Agency (PGA), and all modes of global transport
- Ability to interpret import and export laws, policies, and regulations
- Experience dealing with different personalities
- Familiar with compliance matters involving government regulatory, logistics, and inventory matters
- Extensive computer skills, mathematics, written, and oral communication skills
- Ability to travel to support customers
Education and Experience:
-
- Bachelors’ Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management
- At least 10 years’ experience in logistics and 5 years’ experience supervising
- Proven leadership abilities based on work experience
- ERP/TMS experience
